Gewobag, Berlin's largest state-owned housing company, has opened applications for its first innovation award focused on energy data management solutions. The competition targets start-ups and established firms capable of developing digital tools to track and optimise energy consumption across the company's portfolio. Winners will pilot their solutions in collaboration with the municipal landlord. The move reflects mounting pressure on social housing providers to control rising utility costs for tenants while meeting stricter climate targets. Applications opened on 2 January.
